Luncheon aims to increase awareness for homeless and hungry

Community members joined the Rockford, Winnebago, and Boone Counties Continuum of Care task force at a luncheon Tuesday in honor of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

The event featured a presentation on the challenges of serving the homeless population as well as success stories. Artwork representing the area's homeless was also on display. The goal of the luncheon was to spark discussion and a community dialogue on how to serve local people struggling with hunger and homelessness.

Member agencies represented at the event included the 17th Judicial Court, Carpenter's Place, MotherHouse, Crusader Community Health, MELD, and more.
