Rockford's Dixon wins NACC honor

Late Monday night the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference released its first basketball weekly awards of the season, and senior David Dixon (Bellwood, Ill./St. Joseph) was selected NACC Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in Rockford's season opener. It is the second time in as many seasons that Dixon has earned a weekly award from the NACC. His first NACC Student-Athlete of the Week selection came last season in late January.

Dixon began the 2013-14 season with an impressive performance to help lead Rockford to an 89-84 win over Loras. Dixon scored a game-high 30 points on 13-21 shooting including knocking down 4 of his 6 three-point attempts. The senior rounded out his stat line with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots.
The men's basketball team will open NACC play on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m. on the road against Concordia University Chicago. The Regents will then return home on Saturday for a nonconference tilt against Eureka College. Tip-off between the Red Devils and Regents will take place at 3:00 p.m. in the Seaver Center.
