A Rockford event to prepare people for concealed carry proved quite popular Monday night. Several people were turned away because the building was at capacity.
Dozens of people filled the YWCA in Rockford for the Concealed Carry Forum. A panel of experts on the matter, including Winnebago County State's Attorney Joe Bruscato, went over the law and talked about what people can expect.
"The citizens of this community have demonstrated to me that they are law abiding citizens. Studies have shown that individuals that have concealed carry permits are actually less likely to commit offenses than the general population," said Bruscato.
The entire forum will be posted on the League of Women Voters website at ww.lwvgr.org.
