Jury selection starts in abuse case against Rockford father

Rockford -

A Rockford father heads to trial after police say he physically abused his own son.

Matthew McNabb was arrested in 2006.  Police were called to a home at 7805 Shore Drive in Machesney Park where they found a three month old baby boy, who wasn't breathing.  The child was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but he survived.  Police say the baby's injuries were consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome.  McNabb faces aggravated battery to a child charges.  Jury selection started to hear the case against McNabb Monday.
