Emergency officials in Chicago are warning residents about severe storms that are bearing down on the city.
In a Sunday news release, the city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications says that people in the city should take seriously the National Weather Service advisory that thunderstorms are expected to develop in the late morning and early afternoon hours. That includes the thousands attending Sunday's Bears game at Soldier Field.
The offices says the storm is expected to include what it calls "strong, damaging winds" that could be in excess of 70 mph and that heavy rainfall, large hail, lighting and even isolated tornadoes are possible.
