Rockford Health System toy drive

With Christmas right around the corner, you can help one organization light up a child's world this holiday season.

Rockford Health System will host its annual RHS Ambassadors Holiday Toy Drive this December.

The toys are used not just for the holiday but throughout the year as gifts for hospitalized children. They help distract, soothe and entertain children visiting or receiving care.

"Its kind of takes their mind off of what's happening to them and its a nice incentive sometimes with the nurses stuff, we all like to have a reward at the end if we have been good and sometimes the nurses can use this as a little reward," said Jody Schumacher, Co-Chairman of Toy Drive.

The event is December 4th at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Festivities begin at 7:30 am in Cafe 2400.

If you'd like to drop of toys, you can do so at Mary's Market on East State Street and Meg's Daily Grind locations on North Alpine and North Perryville.
