Friends of the two- and four-legged variety gathered at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Monday afternoon to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the hospital's Paws 4 Healing program.
The program uses highly-trained dogs to provide physical, emotional, social, and cognitive therapy to patients. The hospital was the first in the area to offer animal-assisted therapy and on Monday, handlers and their animals celebrated their work with refreshments and visits from the public.
You can learn more about the program and how to get involved at osfsaintanthony.org.
