Rockford-based First Love International Ministries is on the ground in the Philippines, providing relief to the thousands affected by the recent Typhoon Haiyan.
Thirty-five missionaries are providing shelter in First Love's ministry centers and schools and providing relief on the islands of Boracay, Panoy, and Leyte. The ministry's executive director, Tom Clinton, and his wife will leave for the islands on Saturday. So far, the organization has raised $25,000, all of which will go directly to food, water, and relief to those affected by the typhoon.
The group hopes to raise a total of $50,000. You can find more information at firstloveinternational.org
