Boone County Salvation Army in need of toy and food donations

The Salvation Army of Boone County is asking for the public's help in gathering toys and food to help local families in need during the holidays.

You can bring new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls from birth through age 12 and non-perishable food items to the Salvation Army at 422 South Main Street in Belvidere. Donations are due by December 9 and items can be dropped off from 9:00 to 11:45 a.m. and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The organization is seeing a decline in donations this year and serves around 400 families every Christmas. For more information on how you can help, call 1-815-544-3892.
