Amazon and the United States Postal Service are teaming up to deliver packages to customers on Sundays.
At first, the delivery service will be available only to customers in the New York and Los Angeles metropolitan areas. However, the Seattle-based company says it plans to roll the service out to more of the U.S. next year, including Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, and Phoenix.
The Sunday service will be open to all customers, but Amazon expects it to be popular with its Prime customers. The Prime service offers free two-day shipping among other services for $79 a year.
Shares of the company went up $1.69 to $52 during Monday morning trading.
