Flora Grange feeds friends and funds with roast beef dinner

A century-old organization hopes to continue its services in Boone County by dishing out dinner.

Roast beef, mashed potatoes and all the fixings were served up to over 200 people, feeding stomachs and funds of the Flora Grange.

The Grange is an agricultural based community service organization that uses proceeds to provide charity to surrounding communities.

Members hope the dinner raised over $1500 for its chapter.

"It's the oldest agricultural organization in the United States. It's been around since 1867. We do a lot of different projects, something for anybody ages 5-95 in the Grange. It's just a good family organization," said Tom Ratcliffe, Chapter President.

The Boone County chapter of the Grange organization has been in existence since 1910.
