Marie's Pizza robbery suspect pleads guilty to murder

One of three men accused of murder in the October 1, 2011 robbery of Marie's Pizza has pleaded guilty to First Degree Murder.

Desmond Bellmon appeared before the Honorable Judge Gary Pumilia on November 7. Prosecutors say he, Lamar Coates, Brandon Sago, and Michael Sago Jr. entered the pizzeria that night, masked and armed with a firearm, and demanded cash from the owner and patrons of the restaurant. During the incident, 16-year-old Michael Sago Jr. was shot and killed by off-duty officer Frank Pobjecky.

Bellmon faces between 20 and 60 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on December 9.
