U.S. airports to hold moment of silence for TSA agent killed at LAX

Airports around the country will pause at 9:20 a.m. PST Friday to honor the Transportation Security Administration officer killed by a gunman at Los Angeles International Airport last week.

TSA security checkpoints will halt operations at hundreds of U.S. airports at the moment 39-year-old Gerardo Hernandez was shot. The father of two was the first TSA officer killed in the line of duty. A public memorial will be held for him at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena Tuesday morning.

Police say TSA officers were targeted by alleged gunman Paul Ciancia. Two other officers and a bystander were hurt before Ciancia was shot by police. He is still in the hospital.
