Rockford School District residents voice their opinions on facility needs. And those suggestions may pave the way for district updates.
Rockford's school board members are looking for guidance on how to use taxpayer dollars over the next five to 10 years for facility updates. The board held a focus group of teachers, students and parents to gather public input. The meeting is an effort to think outside the box when envisioning what district 205 would look like in the future.
"There were many concerns including the kinds of classrooms, entry-ways, welcoming spaces, open spaces, how to configure spaces to be particular to the educational objectives," said Michael Connor, RPS School Board Member
The focus group is the first of several to be held this month as an ongoing project to get public feedback through February.
