Illinois legislators are in Springfield this week for the last three days of their fall session.
Hearings on corporate tax incentives and stricter gun penalties are scheduled for the House on Tuesday. A vote on same-sex marriage could also occur this week, after stalling in the House last spring. The measure was approved by the Senate in February.
Despite all of that, lawmakers are not expected to come to a deal on the state's $97 billion pension crisis. However, legislators do say they are making progress.
