An Illinois man gets ordered to receive mental health treatment

A 24 year old man is going to get in-patient mental health treatment after he was found not guilty by reason of insanity after stabbing his mother to death.

According to the Northwest Herald Raymond E. Davis was formerly of Johnsburg and had a fitness hearing yesterday in McHenry County court. In September Judge Sharon Prather ruled prosecutors proved Davis killed his 58-year-old mother Carol Schritz, but psychiatrists found he was legally insane.

Officials say Davis can be committed for up to 60 years or the maximum time for prison if he was convicted of murder.
