Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have assigned forward Joakim Nordstrom (JOH-keem NORD-struhm) to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Nordstrom, 21, has scored one goal in eight games this season with the Blackhawks. The Stockholm, Sweden, native scored his first-career National Hockey League goal on Oct. 11 vs. the New York Islanders.

Nordstrom was drafted by the Blackhawks in the third round (#90 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
