Hit and run leads to arrest of alleged Rockford gang member

A 21-year-old Rockford man faces multiple charges after a Loves Park hit and run investigation.

According to a release sent by Loves Park police, officers were investigating a hit and run crash at Forest Hills and River Lane when they developed an address for the suspect and learned of other possible criminal activity.

Anthony Shun was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Armed violence
  • Possession of a firearm and ammunition with no FOID
  • Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member
  • 30 to 500 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver
  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Leaving the scene
  • Driving without a license
  • Improper left turn

Shun was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail in lieu of bond.
