Rockford Police Department hosting several recruiting events

The Rockford Police Department will host several recruiting events around the community in an attempt to find and hire more officers.

The department says candidates should have strong character, a desire to serve, and be committed to protecting the community. Applicants must be between 21 and 34 years old by the closing date of the application period, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and not have any felony convictions or convictions for certain misdemeanors.

Representatives will be at the following locations on Tuesday, October 8, to recruit applicants:

  • Rockford Mass Transit District - 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Rasmussen College - 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Rock Valley College - 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Judson College - 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

You can also apply online at www.rockfordil.gov/police. Applications are due by October 28.
