Dozens of workers will be out of a job, after a Machesney Park Outlet store announces its closing.
The JC's 5 Star Outlet at the Machesney Park Mall is one of 15 across the country shutting its doors. Company Spokesman Todd Hutchins says 70 people work at the location here, and full-time workers will be offered a severance package. An official date for the closures hasn't been announced, but Hutchins thinks most stores will stay open through the holidays.
The Outlet stores had been designated to close by JCPenney, but were acquired by SB Acquisitions in October of 2011. The CEO of JC's 5 Star Outlets, Glen Gammons says closing the stores was a painful decision to make.
You should start seeing items inside the store going on sale Wednesday.
