A Rockford woman will live her Olympic dream, although not in the traditional way.
Amber Kypke is a beauty instructor at Tricoci University's Rockford campus. She was chosen to style athletes' hair at the 2014 winter Olympics in Russia. Kypke says it's been a life-long dream. She went through a detailed interview process competing against thousands of other stylists.
"I'm just excited to do this. It's an opportunity, once in a lifetime. It's something that my students will strive for in the Summer Olympics and Rio De Janeiro," she said.
While she will have room and board paid for once she gets there, she is raising money to pay for her trip. Kypke was chosen to style athletes for the opening and closing ceremonies in February.
