Teen injured in shooting


A Rockford teen is hurt after police say he was shot on a front porch.

It happened on the 2100 block of Kishwaukee Street around 4:30 pm Monday.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was on the porch with another person when he was shot in the hand. Investigators say he was brought to the hospital and the injury is non-life threatening.

Witnesses say the shooter was driving a small black Jeep. It is unclear what the motive was for the shooting.
