Two flown from scene of DeKalb County car crash

Four people are hurt, two seriously, after a car crash early Monday morning in DeKalb County.  It happened at Somonauk Road and Suydam Road.

Police say Wesley Scott James, 22 was going east on Suydam Road when witnesses say he didn't stop at the stop sign.  Investigators say James hit a minivan driven by Ronda Scherer, 44.  Ronda and her two kids Branden and Nathan Scherer were all hurt.  Ronda and Branden were taken to Valley West Hospital by ambulance.  Nathan was flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital, police say he had two broken legs, two broken wrists and broken ribs.  James was also flown from the scene to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford with head and chest trauma.

James was given tickets for disobeying a stop sign, and for not wearing a seat belt or having insurance.
