Rockford partnership looks to reduce crime


A new partnership in Rockford hopes to reduce relapses in crime and improve public safety.

At Henrietta School, community and government leaders announced a cooperative effort. Several groups are working to gether to discuss a multi-jurisdictional information sharing initiative. It's a program designed to make neighborhoods safer.

It targets those with a violent past who are introduced back into the community. 

"The program will provide hopefully help them find a job, help them find a place to live outside the environment that got them into trouble in the first place and also provide necessary community support," said Paul Logli, United Way Rock River Valley

The people in the program will be monitored in order to keep track of their progress.
