New community safety group launches in Rockford

There's a new organization in Rockford aimed at making the community safer.

WomenCan Int'l held its first meeting Wednesday to discuss the importance of neighborhood safety. The group wants to educate the community on protecting themselves when in danger. Also, it helps other local neighborhood watch groups whenever someone is in trouble.

"With WomenCan Int'l we can go in with the neighborhoods and help the neighborhood watch groups, so if they want backing. So we can all ban together." said Mitzi Pluviose, President of WomenCan Int'l

If you're interested in helping WomenCan Int'l, you can call Mitzi at (779) 772-5152.
