Mach. Park house fire could displace residents living there

Posted: Updated:

Rockford area fire crews respond to a house fire in Machesney Park Tuesday afternoon. When emergency responders got to the scene at 250 Wallace Avenue, they saw flames coming from the wall. The fire started in the lower wall area of the dining room. It was put out quickly, minimizing damage to the structure. Three residents were in the home at the time of the fire. No one was hurt.

Investigators say the cause is believed to be electrical, but they're still looking into it. Fire crews estimate the cost of damage to be around $5,000. They advise the family stay elsewhere until an electrician can look at the circuits.

North Park & Harlem-Roscoe fire crews were on the scene.
