Posted: Updated:

Beloit Police have identified the body recovered from the Rock River Tuesday night.

A forensic examination shows the body is 55-year-old Bobby Bevineau of Beloit.

Bevineau was reported missing to the Beloit Police Department a week ago. Investigators have not determined the cause of death, but they do not suspect foul play.

Captain Risse with the Beloit Police Department says the body had been in the river for so long that authorities were unable to identify the individual's race or sex. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Beloit investigators recover a body from the Rock River. Around 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, workers at the WP&L Substation in the 800 block of Pleasant Street found a body on the east bank of the river. They called 911. Beloit Police Department and Beloit Fire Department were on the scene as well as the Rock County Coroner's Office. The body hasn't been identified yet. It's unclear if police are looking at this as a criminal investigation.
