ROCKFORD (WREX) -

The Rockford mother accused of stabbing her son to death earlier this month appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.

Jody Kossow has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of her eight-year-old son Thomas. Thomas was stabbed at the family's home in the 200 block of Woodrow Street in the early morning hours of September 10.

All of Jody Kossow's remaining family members have filed orders of protection against her, which were extended to September 2015. The case is set to be reassigned.
