Boone County Animal Services offering deal on adoptive pets

Boone County Animal Services is hoping a $50 discount will help find loving homes for some of its most difficult pets to place.

Many people looking for pets often pass over certain breeds or older animals so the agency is offering the limited-time discount in an effort to find those pets good homes.

"We get a lot of senior dogs in, we get a lot of the American Pitbull Terriers and a lot of the American Staffordshire Terriers in," Animal Services Program Coordinator Jacqui Mitzelfelt explained. "Those dogs are very hard to adopt, that's why we rely on our foster caregivers to keep them in foster care so they're not sitting in cages here."

The discount will last until Saturday, September 28.
