A 25-year-old woman has been found guilty of aggravated battery in the beating of a minor child at South Henrietta Park in May 2011.
The victim told police Gerri Simmons was present at the park when she was knocked to the ground, beaten, and kicked. The victim's sister identified Simmons as one of the adults who were present and said Simmons kicked her sister in the head while her sister was on the ground.
Simmons is scheduled to be sentenced on November 4. Aggravated battery has a sentencing range of two to five years in prison.
