Cherry Valley Library hosting scarecrow fundraiser

The Cherry Valley Library is celebrating fall with a new fundraiser.

For $25, you can adopt a scarecrow to decorate and have your finished product displayed in downtown Cherry Valley for a month. A photo of each finished scarecrow will be entered in a contest on the library's website where people will vote for their favorite.

"This is an event that lets people use their creativity and imaginations to collaborate with other family members or club members, advertise their business, and just have a good time doing it," Cherry Valley Public Library District Director Eve Kirk said.

The fundraiser will help pay for a new parking lot at the library.
