DEKALB (WREX) -

Northern Illinois University quarterback Jordan Lynch earned his second Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week honor after his performance in NIU's 43-39 win over Eastern Illinois, the league office announced Monday.

Lynch ran for 189 yards on 23 carries and completed 21-of-30 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown to lead the Huskies past the Panthers.  Lynch accounted for 424 yards of total offense to record his fourth career 400-yard game and it was his sixth career game with 150-plus yards passing and 150-plus yards rushing.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Lynch surpassed the 100-yard mark in rushing for the 16th time in his career and the second time in three games this season as he led the Huskies back from a 20-0 early deficit to get the win.  Lynch's 189 yards rushing were the second-highest total of his career as he averaged 8.2 yards per carry. The Mt. Carmel product has thrown a touchdown pass in 16 straight games dating back to the 2012 season opener vs. Iowa.

Four Huskies have garnered MAC Player of the Week honors this season. Wide receiver Tommylee Lewis (Riviera Beach, Fla./W.T. Dwyer) and defensive tackle Ken Bishop (Lauderhill, Fla./Piper) earned MAC West Offensive and Defensive Player of The Week accolades for their performances in NIU's 45-35 victory at Idaho. Lynch and Mathew Sims (Hannibal, Mo./Hannibal) garnered league accolades for their performances in NIU's 30-27 victory over Iowa in the season opener. Sims earned MAC West Special Teams Player of the Week honors, while Lynch took home the MAC West Offensive Player of the Week.

NIU returns to action Saturday, Sept. 28 when the Huskies travel to Purdue.
