A Goldendoodle from Standard, Illinois, spent two hours dog-paddling at the bottom of a Standard, Illinois well before being rescued by a firefighter.
Doogie fell 23 feet into his family's well after running to meet a well inspector. His owners, Arch and Judy Hopkins, described the ordeal as "horrifying."
Doogie spent two hours on Saturday alternately swimming and wedging himself from wall to wall with his legs while firefighters tried to figure out how to rescue him. Eventually, a firefighter rappelled into the well and put Doogie into a mesh body bag before bringing him back to the surface.
