UPDATE: 13 people injured in Chicago park shooting

UPDATE: Police are still searching for whoever opened fire last night at a Chicago park injuring 13 people including a 3 year old. Investigators believe the shooting was gang related. The 3 year old Chicago boy is in critical condition after being shot in the cheek. His grandmother, Semecha Nunn, says he is "doing better" and is "very strong" after he had plastic surgery. Also a 15-year-old boy was shot in the arm and 17-year-old girl was shot in the foot. The shooting happened last night around 10 p.m.

UPDATE:  Now Chicago police say 12 people were injured when someone opened fire on people in a park on the city's southwest side.  Police spokesman Ron Gaines says victims are being interviewed. No one has been taken into custody.

UPDATE: We now know that 11 people including a 3 year old were injured from the shooting. Chicago Fire Department officials say the child and two other victims are in critical condition. According to authorities no one has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Several ambulances respond to a Chicago shooting late Thursday night.

According to Chicago Police several people have been shot in a park in the city's Back of the Yards neighborhood around 10 p.m. Thursday night. Police said investigators still have to determine how many were shot in the park on the city's southwest side.

An hour after the shooting, the Cook County medical examiner's office said none of its staff were being called to the scene. We will update you with more details On this story as they become available to us.
