Two people are found dead in a Polo home. Officers got to the scene at 604 W. North Street early Monday afternoon.
"We were dispatched at 12:34 p.m. to a disturbance at this location and upon arrival, the officers discovered that there had been two deceased persons which led us to this death investigation." -says Polo Police Chief Dennis Christen.
Chief Christen says not all family members have been notified yet, so there's information they can't share. Investigators aren't releasing any description of the two bodies, cause of death or suspect information. Ogle County Sheriff's Police, Illinois State Police and the Ogle County Coroner's Office are helping Polo P.D. in this case. Chief Christen says this type of death investigation is rare in the community.
"I've been here 23 years and this is my first. Being a small community, everyone knows each other and it's very difficult." -he explains.
According to Chief Christen, this was an isolated incident and no one else in the Polo community was in danger. We'll bring you more information on this case as we receive it.
