The week kicked off Monday with a Celebration of Peace at the Fisher Memorial Chapel. Several speakers, including university president Robert Head, Jane Addams historian Suzanne Crandall, and Month of Peace organizes James and Pam Keeling.

On Wednesday, Barrie Carter Gibby will speak on labyrinths from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Burpee Center's Grace Roper Lounge. A shoe labyrinth will be created to benefit Carpenter's Place. Donations of new and like-new athletic shoes will be accepted through Friday, September 20 in a collection bin in the center's lobby.
