Orange construction cones and backed up traffic have already been a staple of Interstate 90 but now it's about to get worse.
The exit ramps off East State Street in Rockford shut down on Monday.
The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to close the eastbound ramp that lets drivers go from Wisconsin to Chicago. A detour will take you instead to the Harrison Avenue exit. Then drivers will have to use Perryville to get back to State.
It will be shut down for six weeks. The west bound ramp should remain open.
