Counterfeit money surfaces in Quincy

quincy (wrex) -

Police in Quincy are trying to find the source of counterfeit cash that has turned up in the western Illinois town.

Lt. Dina Dreyer said police do not often see "something of this magnitude" and officers believe there is just one suspect involved. An arrest warrant for that individual has been issued.

Police say almost $300 in counterfeit bills have been passed at six businesses from August 25 to September 4.
