Meehan Elementary students get lesson on respecting themselves

A storyteller, comedian, and ventriloquist made a stop at Meehan Elementary School Thursday to give kids a lesson on how to respect themselves and others.

Chris McBrien performed two shows at the school, which was recently recognized by the state for having positive image awareness programs. School officials wanted to start the year spreading the same message.

"So we thought it was important right at the beginning of the school year to bring somebody in to promote those positive behaviors," Principal Michael Yates said.

McBrien will also perform Thursday night at Belvidere High School's Performing Arts Center at 7:00 p.m.
