Beloit School District asking for public's help in naming new school


The School District of Beloit is asking for the public's help in naming a new intermediate school that will be built this year.

The Board of Education has formed a committee to gather community input on who to name the school after. The committee will gather the information and make a recommendation to the Board in a few months.

Name submissions should meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrating exemplary moral character
  • Made an outstanding contribution to education, humanity, or the community
  • Displayed outstanding leadership
  • Is a person of historical significance

Submissions should be submitted by Friday, October 4 and forms can be found at Once completed, forms can be submitted to Melissa Badger at, faxed to 608-361-4122, or mailed to the Kolak Education Center, c/o Melissa Badger, 1633 Keeler Avenue, Beloit.
