Several residential burglaries cleared with Rockford man's arrest

A 44-year-old Rockford man faces charges after police say they found him with a stolen stove in the back of his vehicle.

Rockford police responded to the 7400 block of Ashton Villa around 7:30 a.m. for reports of a stolen stove. The stove was outfitted with a tracking device and was located by South Beloit police in a gas station parking lot in the 800 block of Blackhawk Boulevard. The driver, Jason A. Hauff, was arrested, and burglary tools were found inside the vehicle. Hauff has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Possession of Burglary Tools
  • Traffic Charges
  • Residential Burglary - 7406 Ashton Villa
  • Residential Burglary - 800 Quill Drive

The following residential burglaries were also cleared with Hauff's arrest:

  • 5008 Pepper Drive
  • 218 Lilly Lane
  • 4109 Biltmore Chase
