ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Multiple outlets have been set up to raise funds for the burial of eight-year-old Thomas Kossow, who was stabbed to death in his driveway early Tuesday morning.

The site www.gofundme.com/ThomasKossow has raised nearly $4,000 so far with a goal of $8,000 to help with burial costs for the McIntosh Elementary student. In addition, Thomas' Memorial Fund, has been set up with Associated Bank. Simply visit any bank branch to donate.

A candlelight vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday night in Thomas' memory at the Lube Pros where his father worked, 6302 East Riverside Boulevard in Loves Park.

Kossow will be laid to rest Friday. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:15 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2001 North Alpine Road. The funeral will follow at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Associated Bank memorial fund.

Kossow's mother, Jody Kossow, was arrested by Rockford police that morning for the death of her son, who was described by neighbors as sweet and polite. Kossow died of multiple stab wounds to his torso.
