Northern Illinois Hospice starts training new volunteers

The Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center welcomed new volunteers Tuesday with an orientation session for its autumn volunteer training program.

New volunteers will get training on listening and communication, patient care, family needs, the legal and psychological aspects of dying, loss and grief, spirituality, and more. Once trained, volunteers will work with hospice patients and families, offering support during the end-of-life process.
