Aviators Shut Out at Normal

The Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, couldn't break through offensively Wednesday night as they were shut out by the CornBelters 4-0.

CornBelters' right-hander Kyle Hassna earned his first professional win. He went eight innings and allowed just four hits, walked two and struck out seven.
Normal scored the only run it needed in the bottom of the first as Mike Schwartz grounded out to score Santiago Chirino, who went 4-4 in the game with a double, two runs scored, collected two stolen bases and an RBI.
Pat McKenna hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to give the 'Belters a 3-0 lead. Chirino singled to score Rogelio Noris in the seventh to make it 4-0, the final eventual final score.
The final game of the 2013 season begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at the CornCrib in Normal. Fans can listen to the game live on 100.5 NTA-FM and online at www.rockfordaviators.com.
