Posted: Updated:

Thomas Fearn was sentenced to two years of Conditional Discharge and will forfeit his FOID card and firearms.

Former South Beloit Police Chief Thomas Fearn pled guilty to one county of Official Misconduct in Winnebago County Court Thursday for allegedly pushing a handcuffed woman.

The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office says on May 8, 2008 Veronica McIntyre was secured to a bench in the South Beloit Police Department by shackles on her legs and with both arms handcuffed behind her back. When McIntyre attempted to stand, Fearn is accused of putting both hands on her shoulders and pushing her back down onto the bench. He also allegedly put his hands on her neck and forced her down onto the bench and continued to hold her until she went limp.
