Lowry Looking for Big Things at Northwestern

EVANSTON -

Northwestern University's football team is ranked in the AP top 25 preseason poll. The Wildcats are coming off a 10-3 season that finished with a bowl win. Rockford native Dean Lowry was a freshman last year, and expects a big role this year.

"Knowing what the guys around me are doing just helps me to play faster, react and go out and make plays," Lowry said. "I want to be a big contributor."

In his freshman year, Lowry tallied fourteen tackles, a sack, six quarterback hits and a fumble recovery.

Northwestern kicks off its season August 31 at California at 9:30 on ESPN2.
