Christian Life More Experienced on Gridiron

Christian Life's football team went 3-6 under head coach Tony Ambrogio in his first year at the helm of the program. He took over for Chuck Leonard, who had been the only head coach the school had ever known.

Ambrogio says last year's team was young, but now those guys are a year older and understand his system better.

"Last year expectations were to come out and compete," Ambrogio said. "We had a lot of young guys that were vying for starting jobs at skill positions. This year they're all grown up. We're trying to move to the next level."

The Eagles have their eyes on competing for a conference title, but the road goes through defending champion Ottawa Marquette. That's who Christian Life plays in week one.

"You want to be the best, you have to beat the best," Ambrogio said. "We start out with the undefeated champs."

Tune in to Friday Night Football on August 30 to find out how the Eagles do in their opener.
