A father-daughter duo from Stillman Valley has made it to the finals on the adventurous reality show "Get Out Alive" with Bear Grylls.
Andrew "Lucky" Larson and Andrew "Louie" Larson are one of the three remaining teams competing for the grand prize of $500,000. The show's contestants must survive the wild while venturing through New Zealand's South Island.
According to Andrew, being from the northern Illinois area was beneficial to the pair while they were on the show.
"Last night's episode when we were on the glacier, many of the other teams were from warmer climates of the United States and I don't think it felt as cold to us maybe as it might of felt to other people, so that's one advantage of living here in northern Illinois and having some cold snowy winters is that it does get you more tuned to being on a glacier," he explained.
You can find out if the pair win the grand prize during the show's season finale on WREX at 8:00 p.m. August 26.
