Rockford Police have identified the man killed in a hit and run Friday night involving a go-cart. Police say 28-year-old Tavantez M. McAdory was operating the go-cart when he was hit at the intersection of Blaisdell and Royal.
Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia says McAdory died of trauma to the head.
PREVIOUS:Rockford police say one man is dead after a fatal hit and run accident Friday night involving a car and a go cart. It happened at Royal Avenue and Blaisdell Street. The victim's name has not been released, but investigators say he was 29 years old.
Police are looking for a dark-colored SUV that they say took off after colliding with the victim's go cart. The SUV could have possible front-end damage on the driver or passenger sides. Investigators say several people witnessed the accident.
The coroner has scheduled an autopsy for Monday. We will update you with more information as we receive it.
