RMTD adds new route for STAR Program

Rockford Mass Transit District is adding a new route for people in the STAR Program at Page Park School.

The state-funded program helps young adults who have dropped out or were expelled from public schools. Because many of these students are dependent on public transportation, RMTD has added a new route to help them get to class.

The route will run twice a day, with the first bus leaving the transfer center at 8:15 a.m. and coming back at 2:15 p.m.

In addition to going to the school at 5949 Safford Road, the service will also make stops at Rockford and Auburn, Pierpont and Auburn, Pierpont and School Street, and Rockton and School Street.
